Menu Planning Resources

The resources below are designed to assist cooks and menu planners to plan nutritious menus that meet the Caring for Children - Birth to 5 years guidelines. The resources include checklists, helpful tips and recipe ideas for services that provide meals and snacks to children.

Caring for Children - Birth to 5 years (Food, Nutrition and Learning Experiences)

This manual is an essential resource for service Cooks, providing practical information to meet the food and nutrition needs of children 0-5 years in care.

The Yummy Tummy Book

This menu planning recipe book was developed  by Western Sydney Local Health District in 2018. It contains helpful tips on menu planning, weekly meal plans and recipes for ECEC services.

The Good for Kids team also provide a free menu review service to services in the Hunter New England Local Health District who have completed the Munch & Move training.
