Physical Activity

The importance of regular physical activity in reducing the risk of disease and in promoting a healthy lifestyle is well recognised.

Schools have a unique opportunity to promote and encourage physical activity among students through Physical Education, lunchtime physical activity, organised sport and other learning areas.

Did you know?

Children do not automatically know how to catch, throw, kick, run and jump. These are known as fundamental movement skills (FMS). In the same way kids need to learn the alphabet in order to read, they need to learn basic movement skills in order to lead a physically active, healthy life.
