Good for Kids is committed to making it easier for kids and families to eat well and be active by working with agencies and linking with community services.
Good for Kids will work with:
1. sporting groups and council owned leisure facilities
2. agencies that support vulnerable families.
Families like to have fun, make friends and be active in a safe environment.
Clubs that are managed well and are welcoming to families have more members and are financially viable.

Good Sports is a program that assists your club to manage alcohol responsibly and provide a smoke free and safe environment for your members and visitors.
In our region Good Sports will also be assisting clubs to provide healthier food in the canteen and shift the emphasis in junior sports to focus on children’s enjoyment and participation rather than just winning.

Healthier food choices at canteens, kiosks, and at functions can keep kids and parents happier and healthier and give them the edge to perform at their best.
Examples might include selling healthier versions of popular foods such as reduced fat pies and sausage rolls.

Promoting children’s enjoyment and participation in sport not just emphasising winning the game encourages healthy growth and development and increases the likelihood that children will continue to be physically active.
For sports clubs this means ensuring all junior players get equal game time instead of the better players getting more game time than others.
